Fran is a lifelong West Haven resident whose career and passions reflect a deep commitment to education, ecology, and community. After retiring from Savin Rock Community School following 25 years of service, she joined the Land Trust, inspired by the Eco Park project and its mission to restore native plants and promote naturalization along the shoreline.

Rooted in West Haven but shaped by two decades of study and travel, Fran spent 20 years away pursuing college, studying medicinal herbs, and exploring natural healing traditions across the world. Fran and her husband later returned to raise their two children in West Haven, and both children participated in the West Haven Coastal Ecology Camp. Fran herself has been an instructor and dedicated supporter of the camp for more than 25 years.

Her long-standing involvement in environmental education fuels her belief that Eco Park will enrich the many people who enjoy the boardwalk and serve as a model learning resource for coastal communities and environmental education.
