Eco Park is a shoreline resilience and eco-restoration project spanning 1.5 acres of public shoreline adjacent to Old Grove Park in West Haven, Connecticut. The mission of Eco Park is to maintain the area’s ecological balance in a healthy, productive, and resilient state, benefiting both people and the natural environment. It also seeks to engage and educate the public about the shoreline’s ecosystem, why restoration and resilience efforts are important, and what can be done to help mitigate the impact of climate change.
Eco Park is the result of a collaborative effort by the Land Trust of West Haven, the City of West Haven, a committee of dedicated volunteers, and local environmental agencies. In the spring of 2025, more than 16,000 native trees, plants, and shrubs were planted to support the habitat and biodiversity. Visitors can explore 13 interpretive signs along the boardwalk and pathways, each providing insights into the surrounding environment.
This website is designed to help visitors explore and learn from Eco Park. The topics below represent each of the on-site interpretive signs that link by a QR code to this site and include a list of resources.
