The program for the Land Trust Annual Meeting, June 8, 1010, focused on our drinking water. Ronald Walters, Regional Water Authority, gave an overview of the water supply needed and used in West Haven. Mr. Walters also used a comprehensive watershed map to show where our drinking water comes from and how it travels. He concluded by speaking to the importance of water conservation.  Thanks to Mr. Walters, the map referenced, http://ltwhct.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/West-Haven-watershed-map.jpg, is also available under the Watershed area of our website.

Our second speaker, Chris Cryder, Director of Habitat Restoration, Save the Sound, echoed the importance of water conservation.  Mr. Cryder went on to speak about the implications and consequences of global warming and the importance of being aware of how our actions can effect the health of the Long Island Sound.
