The Beach

By Ariel Vaughan

Water

Rushes over my skin.

Sand

Warm on my feet.

Waves

Gently lapping legs.

As the seagulls

Scavenge in the depths of the sand,

I smell the salty ocean air

Sharp on my nose.

Sea spray

Burns my eyes.

Sun

Scalds my skin.

Crabs scuttle about my feet.

Lifeguards blowing their whistles.

Little children playing in the sand.

Parents savoring the last parts of the day

Before going back to work on Monday.

Teenagers watching the sunset.

Elderly couples walking on the boardwalk,

The beauty of the beach entrances them all.

Boats going out at sunset

To have romantic dinners on the water.

Fisherman coming back in from a long day of throwing back fish.

The beauty of nature,

Calming and endearing.

My Neighbor

By Patricia Herbert

My neighbor is Miss L.I.Sound

A very moody Miss dressed in sequened blue,

She jingles the shells along the shore

But robed in royal purple

She roars with the wind

And creeps against the cliffs

Then glowing in azure satin,

She murmurs softly

Smiling at the sky

She seems to never remember

Surprising me every day

Never growing old

She makes me happy

Haiku Poem

By Elajal Gaskaius

Winds blowing, gray rainy clouds,

Birds chirping freely.

Haiku Poem

By Olson Bricens

Chirping in the woods

Misty fields with gentle breeze

An open flower

Haiku Poem

By Brittany  Cardozo

A single puddle,

Alone on a baseball field

Shining with the sun

Haiku Poem

By Amanda Plaza

Many hills to walk up.

The sun comes over the bend.

Tree trunks look like claws.

Haiku Poem

By Vinny Narinayl

Breath in air,

A red dead flower,

Chills go down.
